This session will explore a focused approach to improve student argumentative writing. We will discuss ways to encourage students to join an academic discussion and the strategies students will need to employ in order to effectively communicate their ideas. We explore ways to identify and restate claims, utilize source materials in a student friendly manner, and begin extending student thinking beyond the text to explore their opinions and ideas about important topics. Must have access to Google Classroom before this session. Devices will be provided.
